JOHN S. ALLGEYER DIED ON MONDAY

Funeral Services Are to Be Held Thursday From Ramsey-Richards

John S. Allgeyer, prominent Madison county farmer and member of a pioneer family in this community, died Monday at his home west of Winterset after a long illness. He was 83 years of age.

Mr. Allgeyer was born Jan. 1, 1860, in Mercer county, Ill. Seven years later he came with his parents to Madison county. They settled on a farm four miles west of Winterset, and during the remainder of his long life his home was in that community.

He was married to Nancy May Gordon on Jan. 28, 1894. The moved to the farm which continued to be his home until his death. His wife died on Sept. 11, 1919.

Mr. and Mrs. Allgeyer reared in their home three foster children, all of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Orville Howell of Winterset, Mrs. B. L. Laizure of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Thomas Gordon of Haleysville, Okla. He also leaves nine foster grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Reed Kessler. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
