Irvin W. Gordon Dies At Greenfield
Irvin W. Gordon, a native of Madison county and member of a well known family here, died Feb. 29 at his home in Greenfield, where he had lived for many years. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Gordon was born near Winterset July 23, 1876, a son of William and Sarah Gowin Gordon.
Near surviving relatives include his wife; and three children by a former marriage, Mrs. Anna Howell of Winterset, Mrs. Barney Laizure of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Tom Gordon of Aumsville, Ore.; and a sister, Mrs. Minerva Augustine of Orient.
Funeral services were held March 2 at Greenfield and burial was made in the cemetery there.

Death of Susan Van Cleve
Mrs. Susan Van Cleve died August 22, at her home in Des Moines. She was 55 years old, and was a former Winterset resident.
Mrs. Van Cleve was born Susan Elizabeth Hills, daughter of Mary Reigle and Albert Hills, at Winterset in 1879. In 1897 she was married to Irvin W. Gordon. To this union, three children were born, Anna Howell and Thomas Gordon of Winterset, and Marie Leizure of Des Moines. Later she married F. L. Van Cleve of Des Moines.
As a youg woman she affiliated with the Baptist church. Funeral services were conducted at Lilly's Funeral home in Des Moines, and burial was made at Laurel Hills.
