Winterset Madisonian - April 1912
Eva Huss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Huss, was born in Johnson county, Iowa, Feb. 13, 1866 and died at Clarinda, March 30, 1912, age 46 years, 1 month, 17 days.
She came with her parents to Madison county in 1867. On April 9, 1891, she was united in marriage to Joseph Wright. To this union four children were born, two girls dying in infancy and two sons, Lark and Lyle. There remain to mourn her death, the husband, two sons, six sisters and one brother. Mrs. M. M. Gordon of Wessington, S. D., Mrs. N. D. Gordon, Milo, Iowa, Mrs. F. G. Hockenberry of Doniphan, Nebr., Miss May Huss of Clarinda, Mrs. C. H. Leach, Mrs. P. G. Rollstin and John of Winterset.
She gave her heart to God and as she realized her affliction was coming on her, she would gather her little boys in her arms and kneel with them in prayer.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church April 2d, conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis. Interment was in Hooten cemetery.
