Amanda Gordon,Winterset
Services for Amanda Gordon, 85, Winterset, who died July 25 at the Winterset Care Center North, were held Saturday, July 28 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born at Inwood, Iowa on Sept. 11, 1898, she was the daughter of Ole Johan and Martha Halvorsen Tennyson. Mrs. Gordon had lived here for 63 years, coming from Quinn, S.D. She was a retired cook for a school dormitory and Boy Scout home.
She was married to Willard Gordon on Oct. 25, 1921 at Winterset.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Farlow of Winterset; sisters, Elizabeth Larsen of Philip, S.D., and Josephine Hoveland of Wall, S.D., two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and four sisters.
