BILLY W. DORRELL, Winterset
Services for Billy W. Dorrell, 66, Winterset, who died Sept. 28, 1985 at his residence, were held Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Brite officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery, where military graveside rites were performed by the VFW post.
Born in Madison County June 16, 1919, he was the son of Gold and Bertha Gordon Dorrell. A lifetime resident of the county, he was retired from the Penn-Dixie rock quarry after 25 years with the firm.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a charter life member of the VFW Post 8142 of Winterset.
Survivors include brothers, Warren, Nicholas and Ronald, all of Winterset, and Woodrow of Bakersfield, Calif.; and sisters, Beatrice Bradshaw of Winterset and Betty J. O'Neal of Whittier, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
