Raymond G. Bray

BRAY, Raymond G.

Raymond G. Bray, age 87, a resident of Terraceview Living Center, Shell Lake, and a former of the Town of Crystal, died Sunday, April 18, 1993 at Shell Lake.

Raymond G. Bray, was born January 4, 1906 at Dows, Iowa, to Horace and Mary (Van Tassel) Bray. The family moved from Iowa, to the Town of Crystal where they operated a farm when Raymond was in his teens. He and Olive Satter were united in marriage on November 17, 1928 at Austin, Minn. The couple owned and operated a farm in the Town of Crystal until retiring in 1972. In the late 1970's the couple moved to Shell Lake, but kept a small parcel of land in the Town of Crystal known as "Tory Place." After selling their home in Shell Lake in 1985, the couple moved back to Spooner and made their residence within the city. He became a resident of Terraceview Living Center in Shell Lake in July of 1992, due to illness, and continued to reside there until his death.

Those who survive him are his wife, Olive, of Spooner, five sons, Raymond of South Bend, Wash., Marvin, of Spooner, Leonard and Vernon, both of Minneapolis, and Grant, of Ekmond, Okla., three daughters, Rosemary Bruner, of Minneapolis, Betty Collins, of Spooner, and Donna Mae Bray, also of Spooner, 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, one brother, Lloyd Bray, of the Town of Crystal. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, four brothers, a son, Robert, in 1987.

Funeral services are Thursday, April 22 at 11 a.m. at the Dahl Funeral Home, Spooner, with the Rev. Robert Thrasher officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the time of the funeral service on Thursday. Interment will be in the Earl Cemetery, Town of Springbrook.
