MRS. SARAH FINNEY

Sarah A. Gordon was born in Washington county, Pennsylvania, Jan. 10, 1851 and died at her home in this city Feb. 12, 1891, her age being 70 years, 1 month and 2 days.

At an early age she emigrated with her parents to Madison county, and has lived here almost continuously ever since. She was married to Lorenzo Finney, 51 years ago last Christmas. To this union were born three children, the eldest having died in infancy and Mrs. Jennie Sawyer, the daughter, preceded her in death 14 years ago. Nelson Finney of Dalton, Nebr., being the only living child. She also leaves besides her husband, two brothers - - ton C. Gordon of this county and Samuel I. Gordon of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Heaton of Enid, Okla., and Mrs. Stella Madison of Red Deer, Alberta, and four grandchildren.

She became a christian very early in life and won the love and admiration of all who knew her, by her loving words and kindly acts.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Church of Christ, Elder Roth of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints of which she was a member conducting the services, assisted by Rev. Carpenter. Interment was made in the Winterset cemetery.
