Winterset Madisonian - May 1915
Newton Gordon, one of the pioneer citizens of Winterset, died at his home here on last Friday at the age of 80. He had been failing in health for several years and his last illness extended over a period of about three months.
Mr. Gordon came to Madison county in 1852 and was married 59 years ago, next month. His wife and six sons survive him, also one daughter, Mrs. Jas. Turner.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis, were held on Sunday afternoon and burial in the Winterset cemetery.
