Janice R. Wing 70, of Webster City, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Southfield Wellness Community. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday morning at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday evening at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Janice Ruth Short daughter of Howard and Dorothy Johnson Short was born on March 23, 1939 in Webster City. She received her education from the Webster City Community Schools, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1958. On May 29, 1959 she married Merle Wing at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Janice was a homemaker and also worked as bookkeeper for Merle's Motor Repair for over 25 years, until the couple retired on December 27, 2007.
Survivors include her husband, Merle; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jim Mitchell all of Webster City; sisters, Donna Hoversten of Alden; Judy (Philip) Frakes of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City.
